oh baby: i’m going to oakland this week, and it ain’t gonna cost me a thing

last year i left my life in oakland, went somewhere else

i left and my life stayed behind and kept on going without me

hell, i really don’t mean this in a sentimental way, but my life is my friends

my friends are in california

i will be back in good ol california permanently in two months

but for now i will visit my life and tell it to wait just a little longer

i am so happy i get to see all those beautiful people again
