oh my god. i found an 18th century painting of a cat by chinese artist min zhen that is essentially my cat dante:

In the last two months, I have visited twelve states, and went to lots of parts of California I don’t normally see. Most of the time I was just passing through to get from one place to the other. I saw Tennessee, Kentucky, Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, Idaho, Oregon . . . all during a pandemic! Sometimes I didn’t even get out of the car, just looked out the window and saw the place, wherever it was, and kept going. Gas is cheap and we are in the final days of the American Empire, so I thought I would sail about a little and see the big wide open parts of this dying land.

Thing is: there were multiple times, in completely different parts of the country, where I witnessed long caravans of army vehicles barreling down the highway in the direction of god only knows. I’m talking tanks and humvees and helicopters and trucks full of uniformed troops festooned with guns and ammunition! I’m serious as a heart attack. Were it an isolated incident, say, in some nowhere part of Iowa, I suppose I could chalk it up to the movement of equipment from one depot to another. But after seeing this mass migration of war machines five or six times all over the country with no obvious explanation, all I can conclude is that

WAR IS IMMINENT

and

THE U.S. ARMY
IS GOING TO MURDER US

A war against whom? On us! I don’t know what good it does for anyone to know that, because what can we do, really, to stop it? Though hey, as usual, you heard it here first!
