“the tarnished angels” (1957)

these characters have no names and are only shown briefly in these two scenes. i love little scenes like this because they’re not essential to the plot, but they’re still essential because they make the world feel real, like there are things going on outside of the story. there’s a part in “vampire’s kiss” where nic cage is walking into his apartment building, and two mimes are dancing together on the sidewalk. he doesn’t even acknowledge them. they’re just part of the scenery. i can think of a million scenes like this in a million different movies. it just feels magical in a way that only movies can pull off
