my friend maddie sent me a postcard from The Road— from north texas, and written in albuquerque, while traveling with our friend’s band. i had been expecting it and was Very Glad Indeed when it showed up today, because lord knows i needed something like this. the front has that like lenticular material where the image changes when you moved it around. i had a trapper keeper in the MID 90s (!!!) that had a similiar design. anyway i pixelated the message itself because you can’t just go telling everyone the contents of a postcard intended for your eyes only! know this: it’s very sweet.

thanks maddie~ 👽

i don’t know how well i’ve hidden this (or if i’ve even bothered to), but living alone and working from my bedroom for a year really has turned me into a howard hughesian hermit-freak. maybe by some metric you could argue i’ve grown increasingly deranged, but more accurately i’d say it has just amplified my eccentricities. so be it. age was always going to push me into those stranger realms— it’s just that i took a shortcut to get there is all. not a bad thing! just to be clear though: i am not yet at the point where i subsist entirely on milk and cookies and subsequently piss into the empty milk jars. i’ll save that for my forties!

ok good-night ☆彡
